Questions about the tiers
Why is there no price on the VIP button?
Because it has not been decided, and a number here that changed later would be worse than an empty space. When VIP opens, the price appears on this page and the button starts working. Nothing is taking payment in the meantime.
What counts as a project?
One folder saved in the sidebar. The cap is on how many are saved at once, not on anything they do: a free project can be deployed as often as you like, for as long as you like, on any port, with no limit on requests, file size, or how long it stays up.
Removing a project from the list never touches the folder on disk, so rotating one out to make room for another costs you nothing.
What happens when I hit five?
Adding a sixth is refused, and the five you have keep working exactly as before. Nothing already saved is disabled, degraded, or held hostage, and no project stops serving because of a cap.
What is AI mode?
An AI tab on every project, with nine premade prompts: explain this error, write a README, review this file, why is my page not loading, check this file for accessibility, write a commit message, and a few more. Each one gathers the context it needs from the project itself, whether that is the file tree, the activity log, the open file, or what git has changed.
You supply your own Anthropic API key, and answers are billed to your own account at cost. Local Test takes no cut and adds no markup. A short question runs a cent or two, and handing over a whole long file can reach about twenty cents. The app shows the actual figure beside every answer.
The part worth knowing: the context is gathered and then shown to you in an editable box, and nothing is sent until you press Send. What goes out is exactly the text on screen, so if you would rather a file's contents were not in it, delete them first.
Does the free tier expire, or nag?
No. There is no trial period, no countdown, no upgrade interstitial, and no account to lapse. It is a cap on project count and nothing else.
Is my data treated differently on the free tier?
No, because there is no data to treat differently. Neither tier has an account, and neither collects analytics or telemetry. The internals section lists the only three things that ever touch the network, and paying does not add a fourth.
Is it a subscription or a one-time purchase?
Not settled yet, and it will be stated plainly here rather than discovered at a checkout. The same goes for how a licence behaves across your own machines.
I would rather just support the project.
There is a coffee link, and it buys you nothing except goodwill, which is the point of it. It is not a substitute for VIP and does not lift the cap.
